A federal judge March 13 imposed civil penalties of more than $190 million against Amerigroup Illinois and Amerigroup Corp., raising the company’s total liability following its healthcare fraud conviction last fall to a record $334 million (United States ex rel. Tyson v. Amerigroup Illinois Inc., N.D. III, No. 92C6074, 3/13/07).
