McBrides practice with the St. Louis-based intellectual property law firm of Senniger Powers LLP includes all areas of intellectual property law, including preparation and prosecution of patent applications in the United States and abroad, with primary focus on the preparation and prosecution of patent applications in the areas of biotechnology, biochemistry, molecular biology, immunology, and animal science. These include applications directed to transgenic plants and bacteria, novel DNA and protein sequences, vaccines, diabetes prevention and treatment, gene therapeutics, and diagnostics. His practice also focuses on validity/invalidity and infringement opinions and counseling related to patentability and freedom to operate.
McBride received his B.S. degree in neurobiology and animal physiology from Purdue University in 1996. He received his B.A. degree in psychology from Purdue University in 1997 and his J.D. from Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis in 2001. In addition to his legal practice, McBride has also served as an adjunct professor in the School of Engineering and Applied Science at Washington University , where he taught a course on intellectual property for engineers and scientists.
