Harold Kisner
Harold Kisner, Ph.D., MBA, is the founder (2003) and president of NorthEast
Clinical & Anatomic
Pathology Solutions LLC, a laboratory consulting company, and of NECAPS GPO LLC,
a group-purchasing organization targeting integrated health network, independent
laboratories, anatomic pathology, and physician office laboratories.
Kisner is
also cofounder (2006) of ConVerge Diagnostic
Services, a full-service medical
laboratory integrating anatomic and clinical pathology through molecular diagnostics.
He currently serves as executive vice president for business development for
ConVerge Dx and its affiliated laboratories, CytoDx and HybriDx, and is president
of ConVerge Dx business units FMDx and CRDx.
Previously, Kisner was executive
vice president and lab director of Path Lab Inc., a full-service reference
laboratory serving the northeastern United States. As laboratory director from
1987 through 2003, he helped guide the company through the sale and transition
of Path Lab to Laboratory Corporation of
America from 2001 to 2003. Path Lab
was one of the first laboratory-based hospital integrated health networks in
the country, and Kisner was instrumental in the design and development of the
operating model of the IHN.
Kisner has extensive experience and expertise in
laboratory operations, hospital laboratory management, and laboratory business
development and strategic planning.
He is on the editorial advisory board of Clinical
Laboratory Management Review,
the journal of the Clinical Laboratory Management Association. Kisner has previously
served as editor of the Diagnostics Report, a newsletter on the diagnostics
industry, written articles for numerous scientific and management publications,
and speaks frequently throughout the country on various laboratory-related
topics.
Kisner received his doctorate degree from the University of Rhode Island
in 1982 and served a clinical laboratory residency at the University of Maryland
through 1984. He received his masters degree in business administration
from Loyola College in Baltimore in 1987.
