C. Anne Pontius
C. Anne Pontius, MBA, CMPE, MT (ASCP), is the senior
director of quality systems at Expression
Analysis Inc. in Durham, North
Carolina. She holds a master’s degree in business administration from
Pfeiffer University in North Carolina and a bachelor’s in medical technology
from the University of North Carolina-Wilmington, with certification from
the American Society of Clinical Pathology. She is also a certified medical
practice executive with the American College of Medical Practice Executives.
Pontius’s career in healthcare includes clinical laboratories in academic medical centers,
independent laboratories, hospitals, and private practice physician offices.
For 15 years she served as the president and principal consultant for Laboratory
Compliance Consultants Inc., a national consulting firm specializing in regulatory
compliance, financial feasibility, and operational issues for clinical laboratories.
Pontius is a nationally recognized speaker and author on laboratory management
and the rules of the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988.
She is the president of the Clinical Laboratory Management Association for
2007-2009.
