Amy Brower

Amy Brower, Ph.D., is the director of medical informatics and genetics at Third Wave Technologies. Dr. Brower has a background in medical genetics and computational biology and was a member of the Human Genome Project team at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Department of Energy-Joint Genome Institute.

Dr. Brower’s current focus is on the development of molecular diagnostics in genetics and pharmacogenomics. She is a member of the Secretary’s Advisory Committee on Heritable Disorders and Genetic Diseases in Newborns and Children and chairs the Laboratory Standards & Procedures Subcommittee.

Dr. Brower is affiliated with several professional societies and networks including the American College of Medical Genetics, the Association of Molecular Pathology, the American Society of Human Genetics, and the American Association for Clinical Chemistry. Dr. Brower holds a doctorate in medical genetics from the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
