CMS Releases Medicare Lab Fee Schedule for 2009
12/20/08 The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services on Dec. 19 released the calendar year 2009 annual update to the Medicare Part B clinical laboratory fee schedule, effective Jan. 1, reflecting the 4.5 percent increase granted by Congress. This is the first update allowed since 2004. The update also raises the national minimum payment amount for certain cervical or vaginal smear codes to $15.42, from $14.76.
